I know that everywhere you look you see headlines along the lines of “Fall Trends” and “Transition your Wardrobe for the Fall Season”, so if you’re confused as to why I’m talking about bikini trends on the first day of fall I don’t blame you. Living in Miami doesn’t really give us locals the chance to transition our outfits into the warm, cozy sweaters we’re all falling for because well… IT’S STILL REALLY HOT!!
…Because it’s always bikini season!
Miami Swim Week is the swimwear event of the year with designers debuting what next year’s swimwear styles will look like. Lucky for us living in Miami, it’s summer all year long. One of my favorite fashion shows of the week is Style Saves’. Style Saves is a nonprofit organization that hosts several fashion-focused events to raise funds to provide necessities for underprivileged students and one of their most popular events is their fashion show hosted during Miami Swim Week. I attended this year’s Style Saves 6th Annual Fashion Show where I got a great look into what’s haute in swimwear. The event is sponsored by companies like Vita Coco, Red Bull, and Tito’s Handmade Vodka. As I watched the models strut up and down the runway at the chic Setai Hotel while sipping on some refreshing coconut water vodka red bulls, I noticed quite a few trends that were styled on the models and I’m here to share them with you!
I loved Trina Turk’s bikini line, styled with strappy sandals, and bright colorful beach hats. The models were sporting beautiful bikinis with themes like sexy (sky)high-cut one-pieces, off the shoulder tops, and lots of fringe.
iShine365 models rocked bikinis in white Vans as they strutted down the runway with some rescue pups. How cute is that?!
I also noticed loads of detail on the swimsuits like seashells incorporated along the waistline.
While it’s always fun to follow trends, always be true to yourself and your style!
It may be the first day of Fall, but we’re not putting our bikinis away!
This show is a fun way to participate in Swim Week while supporting a great cause at the same time. Style Saves is an organization that I have always been proud of supporting from the very beginning. Since then, it has grown so much, both locally and internationally, helping kids beyond our home here in Miami in countries like Colombia, Nicaragua, Africa, and even Cuba. The proceeds from the fashion show and other fundraisers they host throughout the year funds the Style Saves annual Back to School event that provides uniforms, school supplies, eye exams, haircuts, and so much more for the kids. Style Saves is a great organization that is truly devoted to making a difference in today’s society preparing kids to excel today and in the future.
