Try and think back to your middle school days when you learned about the periodic table and all its elements. You probably learned which elements blew up when combined and which elements mixed to create something great. Named after its source of inspiration, Copper29 has all the elements you need for fun – a cool atmosphere, the perfect cocktail, and great food. It’s the first of its kind located right on Miracle Mile in The Gables with a focus on perfecting the cocktail experience. By focusing on each ingredient and how they complement each other, the artistry of their craft cocktails takes mixology to the next level. Each cocktail has a special element to it like ice spheres, edible flowers, or 24k golden powder just to name a few. Channeling a speakeasy kind of vibe, you’ll almost walk right passed the blue nondescript doors that lead you into a world you never knew existed. Copper-toned accents found throughout the space are complimented by ivy covered walls and chandeliers that exude vintage sophistication. The team welcomes you with an old school feel complete with bow ties and hats. It has quickly become a popular weekday happy hour spot and go-to on the weekends. Read on to find out what you could be sipping on as the DJ mixes your favorite beats in a way you’ve never heard before.

THE FOOD
This appetizer is simple and fresh. If you’ve ever tried making guacamole at home, you quickly realize that it’s not easy to get the consistency just right. The smooth consistency of this guac was so on-point with bite sized pieces of avocado chunks, I almost went into the kitchen and asked them how they made it.
This, by far, was the best dish of the night! I’ve never had such an incredibly flavorful flatbread that packed so much interest in every bite. Topped with tender yet crispy short rib that’s mixed with gorgonzola cheese, figs, and grilled pears, your savory and sweet cravings will be more than satisfied. The power from the gorgonzola cheese balances the flavors of a surprise ingredient – truffle. Truffle isn’t listed on the menu for this item, but it’s faint and blends in so nicely with the other ingredients that it doesn’t have to be. Truffle is the only ingredient that my hubby and I don’t see eye-to-eye on. I love it and he doesn’t. But believe it or not, this was the favorite of the night for the BOTH OF US.
There’s so much going on in between these two little buns so get ready! The smoked pork was well-salted and seasoned, the Dijon mustard adds moisture and creaminess, and the pickle and cabbage adds a nice crunch of acidity. Heads up! Don’t order these on a first date, they’re messy!
One word – addicting. A solid base of Oreo crust laid down the foundation for this cheesecake topped with fluffy whipped cream. We were so excited to dig in that I didn’t have time to snap a photo of it before taking a bite. I think I have to go back to order it just so I can get a proper photo of it, or maybe I’m just looking for an excuse to return to Copper29 soon!
Come here to grab a few drinks, dinner, or both. Copper29 has a good thing going on – a great vibe, great music, and great crowd. It’s fresh. It’s unique. It’s just what The Gables needed.
