I was so excited to sit down with Sara Zamikoff of Emporium Boutique in Coral Gables. Her window displays are always so chic and feature the season’s latest trends in a very wearable way. Local businesses like hers are what makes Coral Gables so special. Sara has put her heart into her boutique and it has grown so much in the past nine years! So much so that last year, she moved Emporium to a larger space right on Miracle Mile. She loves to support local designers and makes a couple of buying trips a year with the turn of each season to bring you the best selection of clothing and accessories. Sara also makes sure that prices are reasonable with the majority of brands she stocks staying within the $100 range. Whether you’re off to “meet the parents” for the first time or going out for drinks with your girls you’re bound to find something perfect to wear at Emporium.

She builds inventory with casual chic pieces that she would wear herself. The boutique’s style can be explained as boho-chic with an emphasis in combining classic and trendy into a casual, everyday look. In the boutique you’ll notice tons of accessories ranging from this season’s must have (the choker) to personalized, delicate bracelets. As you browse, you’ll notice lots of art with inspirational messages are sprinkled throughout the space.

Sara loves to help her customers feel confident in the clothes they’re in. Personal style can say so much about you and everyone is different. At her core, she is always honest when asked for styling advice. Which, as a customer, is so incredibly important to hear. She also offers personal styling consultations where she’ll visit your home and help you re-imagine outfits with clothes you already have while identifying the gaps in your wardrobe.

Sara knows what it’s like to work hard. She started her professional career as a pastry chef and went on to become a teacher before saving up enough to open her store. She donates her time to the Chapman Partnership by organizing an annual clothing drive. She also sits down with the graduates each year and passes along her interview and style advice.

It’s no wonder Emporium Boutique won Miami New Times’ Reader’s Choice Award for Best Boutique not once, but twice!
