The Forge: Miami Beach’s Iconic Steak House Has a New Menu
The Forge is about as iconic as you can get in Miami. Technically, it’s been around since the ’20s. It was once an actual “forge” where artisan Dino Phillips created iron works of art for Miami’s wealthy snowbirds. In the ’30s, it was transformed into an early version of the restaurant we know today where the rich and famous would dine the only way they knew how – with steaks cooked to perfection and the best wines to wash it all down. Today, not much has changed. You still go to The Forge to eat one of the best steaks you’ll ever have and you still have an expansive selection of wine to choose from. What is different, however, is the fresh new charm that Chef Julia Doyne has sprinkled throughout the classic menu.

I had an amazing time dining at The Forge. Everything from the service to the quality and presentation of the menu surpassed my expectations for a first-time visit. Although it’s very difficult for me to choose my favorite dishes of the night, I have to say that the Baby Beet Salad, the NY Strip Steak, and the Blacksmith Pie came in at my personal top three. If you’re a wine lover like I am, dining in the Wine Cellar Dining Room added to the overall ambiance.

If you’re going to party (aka have lots of wine and end dinner with a nightcap) make sure you take responsible transportation. If you’re going to dine in style, well, you have to get there in style too. A big thank you goes to miRide for providing a one of a kind transportation experience for my evening at The Forge. My chauffeurs were so polite and I especially appreciated the punctuality of the service while not feeling rushed when dinner ran later than expected. Your driver sends you a text with ETA and patiently waits for you until you’re ready to go.
