Delaire Graff Estate has seemed to fuse all of my favorite things seamlessly in one place. As a foodie, wine aficionado, and diamond lover, a trip to the South African Winelands would not be complete without a stay at Delaire Graff Estate. Nestled in a prime location between the glorious mountains of South Africa’s wine country, in the midst of the beautiful vineyards of Stellenbosch – I like to describe Delaire Graff as the place where dreams come true.
One Night Stay at Delaire Graff Estate
It’s arguably the most spectacular place to experience all that Stellenbosch has to offer. While I knew what to expect prior to check in, I’m not sure what seduced me the most: the stunning views, luxury lodges, gourmet dining, or the diamonds. The perfectly curated indulgence of stunning architecture, design, and wine will surely captivate you to the point of no return.
From the moment we set foot on the estate, we were awed by the elegance and attention to detail that embodied everything around us. The long driveway with perfectly positioned sculptures and neatly manicured lawns leads to the entrance of this lavish estate that’s waiting to spoil you in every way possible.
With so much to take in, we toured the immaculately kept vines on a golf cart and took a walk through the herb garden that supplies fresh ingredients for their first-class restaurants. Words will never be able to describe the feeling being a guest here gave us – and we haven’t even reached our private villa yet.
We spent some time window shopping at the Graff Diamonds boutique which houses the most beautifully crafted diamond pieces I’ve seen in my entire life. I loved trying on the exquisite jewels and still dream of the stunning yellow diamond pendant that briefly dangled delicately around my neck. If the stunning jewels of Graff Diamonds don’t charm you, then surely the hospitality will. As we were escorted to our lodge we were offered complimentary laundry services which were returned promptly the same day. This amenity takes on a whole new meaning when you’ve been living out of a suitcase for three weeks!
The lodges offer extreme privacy and exclusivity with a contemporary design featuring clean lines, African-inspired textiles, and a neutral palette that lets the view from the lodge do all the talking. Our luxury lodge was equipped with a butler’s kitchen, en-suite bathroom, private pool, and a terrace overlooking the mountains.
We enjoyed a bottle of the estate’s best seller, Cab Franc, while admiring the view of the mountains before enjoying the tasting menu at Indochine.
We relaxed by the pool and witnessed the most spectacular sunset we’ve ever seen. The view goes on for miles and we wished in that moment that the sun would never set during our romantic and unforgettable stay at Delaire Graff Estate.
