Everyday Makeup Routine

Everyday Makeup

Hi ladies! Today I’m sharing my everyday makeup routine with you all! I’m really excited to share it since I think I’ve finally found my favorite products. I was never the type to repurchase the same makeup products until I found the right ones that worked for me. Just the other day I misplaced my makeup bag and was literally DEVASTATED. In the past, I would have used that as an opportunity to try new things and change up my look but instead, I went out the next day and bought most of these essentials so I wouldn’t spend a day without them. Luckily, I found the bag a few days later and now I have double of everything. Needless to say, I won’t need to go shopping for a while!

A lot of these products are multipurpose and are so easy to apply that I’m usually out the door in 10 minutes although my husband will disagree and say that time is severely underestimated!

Your everyday makeup should be simple and enhance your natural beauty.

Protect
Although I spend most of my day indoors, I always apply sunscreen. It’s been proven that protecting your skin with sunscreen every day will not only prevent skin cancer, but will keep you looking younger, longer. I have combination skin and most sunscreens leave me feeling and looking greasy. The built-in mattifying moisturizer in Sephora’s 8 HR Mattifying Moisturizer Sunscreen keeps the oil and shine under control for most of the day. I’m not saying it’s a miracle worker, but it’s definitely the best one I’ve found!

Foundation
I absolutely love Bobbi Brown cosmetics. I’m especially fond of her foundation line. Bobbi Brown has options for every skin type, skin tone, and formula preference. I’ve been using her Skin Foundation in Beige and it does a great job at evening out my skin tone. It has light coverage and feels weightless. Added bonus: it has SPF 15! I use the Armani Maestro Blender Brush for perfect application. The brush will definitely give you sticker shock, but it really does last forever. I’ve had this brush for about 7 years now and it’s still in like new condition.

Correct & Conceal
After I apply foundation, I correct any discoloration under my eyes. I dab a little Bobbi Brown Corrector in the color Peach to offset any darkness under my eyes. I then apply concealer over it in order to brighten up any dull areas. I use the Bobbi Brown Creamy Concealer in Light Beige under my eyes, in the inner corner of my eyelids, and in the corners of my nose. It’s a game changer!

Set with Sheer Powder
None of the products I use on my face are matte. The foundation and concealer give my skin a dewy and natural finish but I always like to set the base with sheer powder to keep it from sliding off my face throughout the day. Bobbi Brown’s Sheer-Finish Loose Powder will absorb any oil on your face and sets your foundation in a flawless finish.

Apply Eyeliner
I will rarely line my eyes in black. Unless I’m going to a formal event or want to spice up my date night look I always line my eyes with Bobbi Brown Gel Eyeliner in the color Scotch. It’s a soft brown hue with subtle shimmer that’s very easy to apply. It glides on smooth and you really don’t need to give it a precise application. It enhances my lashes and (I think) compliments my brown eyes nicely!

Shadow
Admittedly, I have always been obsessed with MAC eyeshadows. It wasn’t until I got married and moved out that I had to part ways with all the makeup my mom, my sister, and myself used to share. Being on a budget, I was left with the barely used URBAN DECAY Naked eyeshadow palette that had been sitting in our drawer for longer than I’ll admit. It took some time to get used to, but I really like it. I wear the same neutral tones everyday and the palette has enough options that I can put together a smokey or shimmery eye look in no time. I did take my Blending Brush with me because, well, I couldn’t leave it all behind.

Mascara
I won’t leave the house without mascara. I just won’t. It doesn’t matter how late I’m running, or how lazy I’m feeling. Mascara is always a must. Right now, I’m using They’re Real! from Benefit and it has a great formula that lengthens without clumping. Curling your lashes takes only 10 seconds – so I never skip that step!

Lips and Cheeks
If there’s one thing that really sells me on a makeup product is if it has multipurpose functionality. Bobbi Brown’s Pot Rouge for Lips & Cheeks leaves a beautiful flush when applied to my cheeks and a natural glow when applied to my lips. I only have one in the color Raspberry but I want to add more to my collection soon!

Feel Confident
The most important part about establishing an everyday makeup look is feeling confident. When you look good, you feel good. These products help me create a look that’s totally “me”. I don’t feel like I’m hiding behind a makeup mask and my natural beauty is able to shine through.

What makeup products do you use everyday? Do they help make you feel more confident?
